Asbestos Testing and Inspection

What is Asbestos?

Asbestos is a naturally occurring silicate mineral found in the earth. During the 19th & 20th centuries builders and other manufacturers started using asbestos for its great physical properties such as tensile strength, resistance to fire, heat, chemical, electrical damage and sound absorption. Many building material manufactures jumped on the band wagon and started using asbestos in textures, roofings, coatings, floorings, insulation, joint compounds and other materials. With the use of asbestos in building materials and the many health dangers found as a result of it usage, the Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have implemented compliance regulations that must be followed to stay in compliance. OSHA warrants worker safety and EPA warrants air quality.
